And so it begins...
I never thought I would photograph weddings. It was something I hadn't even considered. I turned 50 last year and have worked in industry for over 30 years with a variety of people, so transferable skills have been essential. Knowing I work with people in a collaborative fashion, when the opportunity arose to photograph my first wedding, it was something I didn't even think about.
I picked up my camera again a few years ago - I wanted to learn about creativity and photography was being taught at the local college. I had always enjoyed taking photos as a child and then admiring my work in the photo albums I would put together for my family.
As I write this, I have been photographing for just over 4 years now and focused on the "arty" side of photography - I have experimented with techniques such as scanography, intentional camera movement, and macro for flowers and plants.

During this time, I have been fortunate to photograph events and found that I really enjoy that part of photography and when I covered my first wedding, it was a real eye opener for me personally - wanting to provide the best I could of myself to the beautiful couple and their loved ones, capturing moments. It really does feel like an honour to photograph a wedding.
So this is my journey. Where it goes, nobody knows...
